A great Lightning upgrade bargain for only $400 more. The 5.8 Lightning BLOWZILLA kit utilizes the same higher capacity BLOWZILLA 2200 (2.2L) Supercharger used on the Kenne Bell 5.0 Mustangs, 4.6 Cobra and 5.4 Lightning kits. 50% greater air flow than the "Standard" 1500 (1.5L) kit. It features the latest Twin Screw Kenne Bell hybrid rotor profiles and includes a billet aluminum bypass valve assembly to circulate the additional air flow during non-boost (idle, part throttle etc.). Whereas the "Standard" 6 psi kit is limited to 6-7 psi, the BLOWZILLA can make 8-16 psi and is capable of producing 650HP and more. Even an OPTIMODULE is included IF available for your EEC. Also included is a Crane ignition retard and BOOST-A-PUMP.
Kenne Bell Lightning test truck was driven daily since 1994. "Standard" 6 psi or BLOWZILLA kits (8-16 psi w/bypass) are available for the Lightning. Supercharging is by far the best approach to big performance (HP and torque) gains on Lightnings, F150's and Bronco's - regardless of mileage. We love the 5.0 and 5.8's. They are strong, dependable and easy to work on. Anyone who doubts that positive displacement superchargers are the logical and preferred choice for automatic transmission trucks might look at what Ford chose to use on their new Lightnings, Cobras, GT40 etc.
